( أَخْبَرَنَا ) أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ أَبَا جَعْفَرٍ مُحَمَّدَ بْنَ صَالِحِ بْنِ هَانِئٍ يَقُولُ: سَمِعْتُ أَبَا عَمْرٍو الْمُسْتَمْلِي يَقُولُ: سَمِعْتُ الْحُسَيْنَ بْنَ مَنْصُورٍ يَقُولُ: سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنَ مَهْدِيٍّ يَقُولُ:

يُكْتَبُ الْعِلْمُ عَنْ أَصْحَابِ الْأَهْوَاءِ، وَتَجُوزُ شَهَادَاتُهُمْ مَا لَمْ يَدْعُوا إِلَيْهِ فَإِذَا دَعَوْا إِلَيْهِ لَمْ يُكْتَبْ عَنْهُمْ، وَلَمْ تَجُزْ شَهَادَاتُهُمْ يُرِيدُ بِكَتَبَةِ الْعِلْمِ الْأَخْبَارَ
