( أَخْبَرَنَا ) أَبُو زَكَرِيَّا بْنُ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ الْمُزَكِّي، أَنْبَأَ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ، ثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْوَهَّابِ، أَنْبَأَ جَعْفَرُ بْنُ عَوْنٍ، أَنْبَأَ سَعِيدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ الطَّائِيُّ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ رَبِيعَةَ قَالَ:
أَتَيْتُ عَلِيًّا ؓ فَقُلْتُ: إِنِّي أَثْبَتُ مِنْ عَمِّي، وَأَجْرَأُ، فَإِنْ رَأَيْتَ أَنْ تَجْعَلَنِي مَكَانَهُ. قَالَ: يَا ابْنَ أَخِي، إِنَّ رَأْيَ الشَّيْخِ خَيْرٌ مِنْ مَشْهَدِ الْغُلَامِ
