أَخْبَرَنَا ) أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ السُّلَمِيُّ، أَنْبَأَ أَبُو الْحَسَنِ الْكَارِزِيُّ، ثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ، قَالَ: قَالَ أَبُو عُبَيْدٍ فِي حَدِيثِ عَلِيٍّ - ؓ

فِي الرَّجُلِ الَّذِي سَافَرَ مَعَ أَصْحَابٍ لَهُ، فَلَمْ يَرْجِعْ حِينَ رَجَعُوا، فَاتَّهَمَ أَهْلُهُ أَصْحَابَهُ، فَرَفَعُوهُمْ إِلَى شُرَيْحٍ، فَسَأَلَهُمُ الْبَيِّنَةَ عَلَى قَتْلِهِ، فَارْتَفَعُوا إِلَى عَلِيٍّ ؓ وَأَخْبَرُوهُ بِقَوْلِ شُرَيْحٍ. فَقَالَ عَلِيٌّ - ؓ: أَوْرَدَهَا سَعْدٌ، وَسَعْدٌ مُشْتَمِلْ يَا سَعْدُ، لَا تَرْوَى بِهَا ذَاكَ الْإِبِلْ، ثُمَّ قَالَ: إِنَّ أَهْوَنَ السَّقْيِ التَّشْرِيعُ. قَالَ: ثُمَّ فَرَّقَ بَيْنَهُمْ وَسَأَلَهُمْ، فَاخْتَلَفُوا، ثُمَّ أَقَرُّوا بِقَتْلِهِ، فَأَحْسِبُهُ قَالَ: فَقَتَلَهُمْ بِهِ
