"Let no one slaughter before he has prayed." Then my maternal uncle stood up to him and said: "O Messenger of Allah, this is a day on which meat is plentiful, and I have slaughtered my sacrificial animal so that my family and my neighbours may eat. And I have a milk-kid (ʿanāq laban) that is better than a sheep for meat; shall I slaughter it?" He said: "Yes. And a young goat (jadhaʿah) will not suffice for anyone after you, and it is the better of your two sacrificial animals."
