( أَخْبَرَنَاهُ ) أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، أَنْبَأَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ، ثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، ثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ، ثَنَا يَحْيَى، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ، أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ دِينَارٍ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللهِ ؓ يَقُولُ:
غَزَوْنَا جَيْشَ الْخَبَطِ وَأَمِيرُنَا أَبُو عُبَيْدَةَ بْنُ الْجَرَّاحِ، فَجُعْنَا جُوعًا شَدِيدًا، فَأَلْقَى الْبَحْرُ حُوتًا مَيِّتًا لَمْ يُرَ مِثْلُهُ يُقَالُ لَهُ: الْعَنْبَرُ، فَأَكَلْنَا مِنْهُ نِصْفَ شَهْرٍ، فَأَخَذَ أَبُو عُبَيْدَةَ ؓ عَظْمًا مِنْ عِظَامِهِ فَمَرَّ الرَّاكِبُ تَحْتَهُ. ( قَالَ ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ ): وَأَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ جَابِرًا ؓ يَقُولُ: فَقَالَ أَبُو عُبَيْدَةَ: كُلُوا. فَلَمَّا قَدِمْنَا ذَكَرْنَا ذَلِكَ لِلنَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَقَالَ: كُلُوا رِزْقًا أَخْرَجَهُ اللهُ، أَطْعِمُونَا إِنْ كَانَ مَعَكُمْ، فَأَتَاهُ بَعْضُهُمْ فَأَكَلَهُ
