( أَخْبَرَنَا ) أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، ثَنَا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ: مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ، ثَنَا هَارُونُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ الْأَصْبَهَانِيُّ، ثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ، ثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ كُهَيْلٍ، عَنْ عِمْرَانَ أَبِي الْحَكَمِ السُّلَمِيِّ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ؓ، قَالَ:

قَالَتْ قُرَيْشٌ لِلنَّبِيِّ - ﷺ: ادْعُ رَبَّكَ أَنْ يَجْعَلَ لَنَا الصَّفَا ذَهَبًا وَنُؤْمِنُ بِكَ، قَالَ: " أَتَفْعَلُونَ ؟ " قَالُوا: نَعَمْ، فَدَعَا، فَأَتَاهُ جِبْرِيلُ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ، فَقَالَ: إِنَّ اللهَ يَقْرَأُ عَلَيْكَ السَّلَامَ، وَيَقُولُ: إِنْ شِئْتَ أَصْبَحَ الصَّفَا ذَهَبًا، فَمَنْ كَفَرَ بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ عَذَّبْتُهُ عَذَابًا لَا أُعَذِّبُهُ أَحَدًا مِنَ الْعَالَمِينَ، وَإِنْ شِئْتَ فَتَحْتُ لَهُمْ بَابَ التَّوْبَةِ وَالرَّحْمَةِ، قَالَ: " بَلْ يَا رَبِّ التَّوْبَةَ وَالرَّحْمَةَ
