I met ʿĀʾishah (may Allah be pleased with her) and asked her about nabīdh. ʿĀʾishah called an Abyssinian slave girl and said: "Ask this one, for she used to prepare nabīdh for the Messenger of Allah ﷺ." The Abyssinian girl said: "I used to prepare nabīdh for him in a waterskin at night, and I would tie its mouth and hang it up, and when morning came he would drink from it."
