( أَخْبَرَنَا ) أَبُو الْحَسَنِ: عَلِيُّ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ عُمَرَ الْمُقْرِئُ ابْنُ الْحَمَّامِيِّ بِبَغْدَادَ، أَنْبَأَ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ سَلْمَانَ الْفَقِيهُ، أَنْبَأَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ غَالِبٍ، ثَنَا أَبُو حُذَيْفَةَ، ثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ، قَالَ:
لَمَّا اجْتَمَعَ النَّاسُ عَلَى عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ كَتَبَ إِلَيْهِ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ: سَلَامٌ عَلَيْكَ، أَمَّا بَعْدُ، فَإِنِّي أُقِرُّ بِالسَّمْعِ وَالطَّاعَةِ لِعَبْدِ اللهِ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ أَمِيرِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ عَلَى سُنَّةِ اللهِ، وَسُنَّةِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فِيمَا اسْتَطَعْتُ، وَإِنَّ بَنِيَّ قَدْ أَقَرُّوا بِمِثْلِ ذَلِكَ وَالسَّلَامُ
