( أَخْبَرَنَا ) أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، وَأَبُو بَكْرٍ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ الْقَاضِي، قَالَا: ثَنَا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ، ثَنَا أَبُو زُرْعَةَ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عَمْرٍو الدِّمَشْقِيُّ، ثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ، ثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ دَاوُدَ بْنِ الْحُصَيْنِ، عَنْ وَاقِدِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ سَعْدِ بْنِ مُعَاذٍ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ ؓ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ - ﷺ:
إِذَا خَطَبَ أَحَدُكُمُ الْمَرْأَةَ فَقَدَرَ عَلَى أَنْ يَرَى مِنْهَا مَا يُعْجِبُهُ وَيَدْعُوهُ إِلَيْهَا فَلْيَفْعَلْ، قَالَ جَابِرٌ: فَلَقَدْ خَطَبْتُ امْرَأَةً مِنْ بَنِي سَلِمَةَ، فَكُنْتُ أَتَخَبَّأُ فِي أُصُولِ النَّخْلِ حَتَّى رَأَيْتُ مِنْهَا بَعْضَ مَا أَعْجَبَنِي، فَتَزَوَّجْتُهَا
