( أَخْبَرَنَا ) أَبُو بَكْرٍ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْأَصْبَهَانِيُّ، أَنَا أَبُو عَمْرِو بْنُ حَمْدَانَ، ثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ، ثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، ثَنَا مُعْتَمِرٌ، عَنْ دَاوُدَ، عَنْ يُوسُفَ بْنِ سَعْدٍ، عَنْ وُهَيْبٍ
أَنَّ زَيْدَ بْنَ ثَابِتٍ ؓ كَانَ فِي إِمَارَةِ عُثْمَانَ ؓ عَلَى بَيْتِ الْمَالِ، فَدَخَلَ عُثْمَانُ، فَأَبْصَرَ وُهَيْبًا يُعِينُهُمْ، فَقَالَ: مَنْ هَذَا ؟ فَقَالَ: مَمْلُوكٌ لِي، فَقَالَ: أُرَاهُ يُعِينُهُمُ، افْرِضْ لَهُ أَلْفَيْنِ، قَالَ: فَفَرَضَ لَهُ أَلْفًا، أَوْ قَالَ: أَلْفَيْنِ
