( أَخْبَرَنَا ) أَبُو عَلِيٍّ الرُّوذْبَارِيُّ، أَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَكْرٍ، ثَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ، ثَنَا أَبُو تَوْبَةَ، عَنِ الْهَيْثَمِ بْنِ حُمَيْدٍ ( حَ قَالَ: وَحَدَّثَنَا ) خُشَيْشُ بْنُ أَصْرَمَ، ثَنَا أَبُو عَاصِمٍ جَمِيعًا، عَنْ ثَوْرِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ، عَنْ نَصْرٍ الْكِنَانِيِّ، عَنْ رَجُلٍ، وَقَالَ أَبُو تَوْبَةَ: عَنْ ثَوْرِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ، عَنْ شَيْخٍ مِنْ بَنِي سُلَيْمٍ، عَنْ عُتْبَةَ بْنِ عَبْدٍ السُّلَمِيِّ - وَهَذَا لَفْظُهُ - أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ:
لَا تَقُصُّوا نَوَاصِيَ الْخَيْلِ، وَلَا مَعَارِفَهَا، وَلَا أَذْنَابَهَا، فَإِنَّ أَذْنَابَهَا مَذَابُّهَا، وَمَعَارِفَهَا دِفَاؤُهَا، وَنَوَاصِيَهَا مَعْقُودٌ فِيهَا الْخَيْرُ.
