( أَخْبَرَنَا ) أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، أَخْبَرَنِي عَلِيُّ بْنُ عُمَرَ الْحَافِظُ، ثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، ثَنَا حَسَنُ بْنُ مُكْرَمٍ، ثَنَا أَبُو النَّضْرِ، ثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ أَبِي الْهَيْثَمِ:
أَنَّهُ قَدِمَ دُهْنٌ لَهُ مِنَ الْبَصْرَةِ، وَأَنَّهُ اسْتَأْجَرَ حَمَّالًا يَحْمِلُهُ، وَالْقَارُورَةُ ثَمَنُ ثَلَاثِمِائَةٍ أَوْ أَرْبَعِمِائَةٍ، فَوَقَعَتِ الْقَارُورَةُ وَانْكَسَرَتْ، فَأَرَدْتُ أَنْ يُصَالِحَنِي، فَأَبَى، فَخَاصَمْتُهُ إِلَى شُرَيْحٍ، فَقَالَ لَهُ شُرَيْحٌ: إِنَّمَا أَعْطَى الْأَجْرَ لِتَضْمَنَ، فَضَمَّنَهُ شُرَيْحٌ، ثُمَّ لَمْ يَزَلِ النَّاسُ حَتَّى صَالَحْتُهُ
