The Prophet ﷺ appointed ʿAttāb b. Asīd over Makkah and said: "I have appointed you over the people of Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, with the instruction to fear Allah, the Mighty and Majestic. And none of them is to eat from the profit of what he has not taken liability for. Forbid them from a loan combined with a sale, and from two transactions in a single sale, and from any of them selling what he does not possess."
