حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ وَحَجَّاجٌ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا الضَّحَّاكِ يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَنَّهُ قَالَ
إِنَّ فِي الْجَنَّةِ شَجَرَةً يَسِيرُ الرَّاكِبُ فِي ظِلِّهَا سَبْعِينَ أَوْ مِائَةَ سَنَةٍ، هِيَ شَجَرَةُ الْخُلْدِ قَالَ حَجَّاجٌ أَوْ مِائَةَ سَنَةٍ، شَجَرَةُ الْخُلْدِ قُلْتُ لِشُعْبَةَ: هِيَ شَجَرَةُ الْخُلْدِ! قَالَ: لَيْسَ فِيهَا هِيَ

✧ In Paradise there is a tree in whose shade a rider travels for seventy or a hundred years; it is the Tree of Immortality. Hajjaj said: Or a hundred years, the Tree of Immortality. I said to Shuʿbah: Is it the Tree of Immortality? He said: 'It is' is not in it.
