حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى وَيَزِيدُ عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ

أَنَّ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ كَانَ يُصَلِّي بِهِمْ بِالْمَدِينَةِ نَحْوًا مِنْ صَلَاةِ قَيْسٍ، وَكَانَ قَيْسٌ لَا يُطَوِّلُ قَالَ: قُلْتُ هَكَذَا كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يُصَلِّي قَالَ: نَعَمْ، وَأَوْجَزَ، وَقَالَ يَزِيدُ: أَوْ أَوْجَزُ

Translation

✧ Abu Hurayrah used to lead them in prayer in Madinah with a prayer similar to that of Qays, and Qays used not to prolong it. He said: I said: 'Was this how the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to pray?' He said: 'Yes, and he was concise.' Yazid said: 'Or he was more concise.'
