حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الْقَطَّانُ عَنْ سُفْيَانَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي سَلَمَةُ بْنُ كُهَيْلٍ عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ
أَنَّ رَجُلًا تَقَاضَى رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ بَعِيرًا فَقَالُوا: مَا نَجِدُ إِلَّا أَفْضَلَ مِنْ سِنِّهِ فَقَالَ: أَعْطُوهُ فَقَالَ: أَوْفَيْتَنِي أَوْفَى اللهُ لَكَ فَقَالَ [رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ ]: خِيَارُ النَّاسِ أَحْسَنُهُمْ قَضَاءً
Translation

✧ A man demanded repayment from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ for a camel. They said: 'We find only a better one than his age.' He said: 'Give it to him.' The man said: 'You have repaid me in full; may Allah repay you in full.' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then said: 'The best of people are those who are best in repaying.'
