حَدَّثَنَا غَسَّانُ بْنُ الرَّبِيعِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ أَيُّوبَ عَنِ ابْنِ سِيرِينَ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ

قَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ لَا يَقُولَنَّ أَحَدُكُمْ عَبْدِي وَأَمَتِي وَلَا يَقُولَنَّ الْمَمْلُوكُ رَبِّي وَرَبَّتِي لِيَقُلِ الْمَالِكُ فَتَايَ وَفَتَاتِي وَلْيَقُلِ الْمَمْلُوكُ سَيِّدِي وَسَيِّدَتِي فَإِنَّهُمُ الْمَمْلُوكُونَ وَالرَّبُّ اللهُ ﷻ

Translation

✧ The Prophet ﷺ said: "None of you should say 'my slave' and 'my slave girl,' and the enslaved person should not say 'my lord' and 'my lady.' Let the owner say 'my young man' and 'my young woman,' and let the enslaved person say 'my master' and 'my mistress,' for they are the enslaved, and the Lord is Allah, exalted is He."
