Musnad Ahmad 9185

Translation

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ, when a funeral was brought to him or passed by him, would ask them: Did he leave any debt? If they said yes, he would say: Did he leave anything to settle it? If they said yes, he would pray over him; if they said no, he would say: Pray over your companion.
