✧ The example of the miser and the one who gives charity is like two men wearing iron coats of mail from their chests to their collarbones. Whenever the charitable person intends to give charity, it expands upon him until it covers his entire body, and whenever the miser intends to give charity, every ring of it constricts to its companion and tightens upon him. He said: I heard the Messenger of God ﷺ, meaning he said: He strives to widen it, but it does not widen.
