✧ A man came to Abu Hurayrah and said, 'Are you the one who forbids people to pray while wearing their sandals?' He said, 'No, but by the Lord of this sanctuary, I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ praying toward this maqam while wearing his sandals, and he left while wearing them. machine translationʿAbd al-Malik b. ʿUmayr narrates it from a man of the Banū al-Ḥārith b. Kaʿb, from Abū Hurayrah. Jarīr, ʿAnbasah b. ʿAbd al-Wāḥid and Muʿtamir b. Sulaymān said: from ʿAbd al-Malik, from Abū al-Awbar, from Abū Hurayrah. Minjāb said: from Sharīk, from ʿAbd al-Malik, from Yazīd al-Ḥārithī, from Abū Hurayrah. Al-Ḥimmānī differed with him and narrated it from Sharīk, from ʿAbd al-Malik, from Abū al-Awbar Ziyād al-Ḥārithī, from Abū Hurayrah. Ibn ʿUyaynah narrated it from ʿAbd al-Malik b. ʿUmayr, from a man, from Abū Hurayrah; this was reported by Aḥmad b. ʿAbdah al-Ḍabbī from Ibn ʿUyaynah. ʿAbbās al-Baḥrānī and others said: from ʿAbd al-Malik, from Abū al-Awbar, from Abū Hurayrah. Ibn ʿUyaynah did not mention fasting on Friday in his hadith, and said: The Messenger of God ﷺ used to pray standing and sitting, to turn away to his right and to his left, and to pray barefoot and wearing sandals. Qurrah b. Khālid said likewise: from ʿAbd al-Malik, from Abū al-Awbar, from Abū Hurayrah. The correct version among these is the statement of those who said: from ʿAbd al-Malik, from Abū al-Awbar, whose name is Ziyād al-Ḥārithī.
