حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ حَدَّثَنَا أَبَانُ يَعْنِي ابْنَعَبْدِ اللهِ الْبَجَلِيَّ حَدَّثَنِي مَوْلًى لِأَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ يَقُولُ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ
وَضِّئْنِي، فَأَتَيْتُهُ بِوَضُوءٍ فَاسْتَنْجَى، ثُمَّ أَدْخَلَ يَدَهُ فِي التُّرَابِ فَمَسَحَهَا ثُمَّ غَسَلَهَا، ثُمَّ تَوَضَّأَ وَمَسَحَ عَلَى خُفَّيْهِ " فَقُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، رِجْلَاكَ لَمْ تَغْسِلْهُمَا ! قَالَ: " إِنِّي أَدْخَلْتُهُمَا وَهُمَا طَاهِرَتَانِ
Translation

✧ He said, 'Help me perform ablution.' So I brought him water for ablution, and he cleaned himself with water, then he put his hand into the dust and wiped it, then washed it, then performed ablution and wiped over his leather socks. I said, 'O Messenger of Allah, your feet—you did not wash them!' He said, 'Indeed, I put them on while they were pure.'
