حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ زَيْدٍ عَنْ أَوْسِ بْنِ خَالِدٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ

إِنَّ الْمَلَائِكَةَ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ عَلَى أَبْوَابِ الْمَسْجِدِ يَكْتُبُونَ النَّاسَ عَلَى مَنَازِلِهِمْ: جَاءَ فُلَانٌ مِنْ سَاعَةِ كَذَا، جَاءَ فُلَانٌ مِنْ سَاعَةِ كَذَا، جَاءَ فُلَانٌ وَالْإِمَامُ يَخْطُبُ، جَاءَ فُلَانٌ فَأَدْرَكَ الصَّلَاةَ وَلَمْ يُدْرِكِ الْجُمُعَةَ، إِذَا لَمْ يُدْرِكِ الْخُطْبَةَ ".

✧ On Friday the angels stand at the doors of the mosque, recording people according to their ranks: So-and-so came at such-and-such an hour, So-and-so came at such-and-such an hour, So-and-so came while the imam was delivering the sermon, So-and-so came and caught the prayer but missed the Friday prayer if he did not catch the sermon.
