حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ وَحَجَّاجٌ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثٌ حَدَّثَنِي سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ عَنْ أَبِي عُبَيْدَةَ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ يَقُولُ

لَا يَتَوَضَّأُ أَحَدُكُمْ فَيُحْسِنُ وُضُوءَهُ وَيُسْبِغُهُ ثُمَّ يَأْتِي الْمَسْجِدَ لَا يُرِيدُ إِلَّا الصَّلَاةَ فِيهِ إِلَّا تَبَشْبَشَ اللهُ [عَزَّ وَجَلَّ] بِهِ كَمَا يَتَبَشْبَشُ أَهْلُ الْغَائِبِ بِطَلْعَتِهِ

Translation

  5. Saʿīd b. Yasār
  6. Abū Hurayrah

✧ When one of you performs ablution and does it well and thoroughly, then comes to the mosque intending only to pray in it, Allah [Mighty and Majestic] rejoices in him just as the family of an absent person rejoices at his appearance.
