حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ الْحَنَفِيُّ حَدَّثَنِي مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ أَبِي مُزَرِّدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي عَمِّي سَعِيدٌ أَبُو الْحُبَابِ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ
إِنَّ اللهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ لَمَّا خَلَقَ الْخَلْقَ قَامَتِ الرَّحِمُ فَأَخَذَتْ بِحَقْوِ الرَّحْمَنِ، قَالَتْ: هَذَا مَقَامُ الْعَائِذِ مِنَ الْقَطِيعَةِ قَالَ: أَمَا تَرْضَيْنَ أَنْ أَصِلَ مَنْ وَصَلَكِ، وَأَقْطَعَ مَنْ قَطَعَكِ ؟ اقْرَؤُوا إِنْ شِئْتُمْ: فَهَلْ عَسَيْتُمْ إِنْ تَوَلَّيْتُمْ أَنْ تُفْسِدُوا فِي الأَرْضِ وَتُقَطِّعُوا أَرْحَامَكُمْ أُولَئِكَ الَّذِينَ لَعَنَهُمُ اللهُ فَأَصَمَّهُمْ وَأَعْمَى أَبْصَارَهُمْ أَفَلا يَتَدَبَّرُونَ الْقُرْآنَ أَمْ عَلَى قُلُوبٍ أَقْفَالُهَا.

✧ When Allah, Mighty and Majestic, created the creation, the womb stood up and took hold of the waist of the Most Merciful. It said: "This is the station of one seeking refuge from severance." He said: "Are you not pleased that I should maintain ties with those who maintain you, and sever those who sever you?" Recite, if you wish: "Would you then, if you were given the authority, do mischief in the land, and sever your ties of kinship? Such are they whom Allah has cursed, so that He has made them deaf and blinded their sight. Then do they not reflect upon the Qur'an, or are there locks upon their hearts?"

Abū Jaʿfar al-Rāzī narrated it from ʿAbdullāh b. Dīnār, from Bashīr b. Yasār, from Abū Hurayrah. It is also said, from Abū Jaʿfar al-Rāzī, from ʿAbdullāh b. Dīnār, from Sulaymān b. Yasār, and that is not preserved (maḥfūẓ). ʿAbd al-Raḥmān b. ʿAbdullāh b. Dīnār narrated it from his father, from Abū Ṣāliḥ al-Sammān, from Abū Hurayrah, as a mursal report (mursal). Mūsā b. ʿUqbah narrated it, and there is disagreement about him: Abū Qurrah Mūsā b. Ṭāriq narrated it from Mūsā b. ʿUqbah, from ʿAbdullāh b. Dīnār, from Abū Hurayrah, as a mursal report. The closest of these to the correct one is the version of Warqāʾ, from ʿAbdullāh b. Dīnār, from Saʿīd b. Yasār, from Abū Hurayrah, because the hadith is preserved (maḥfūẓ) from him. Muʿāwiyah b. Abī al-Muzarrid also narrated it from Saʿīd b. Yasār, from Abū Hurayrah.
