✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent Umar to collect the zakah. It was said: Ibn Jamil, Khalid b. al-Walid, and al-Abbas, the uncle of the Prophet ﷺ, have refused to pay. The Prophet ﷺ said: 'Ibn Jamil has no grievance except that he was poor and Allah made him rich. As for Khalid, you are wronging Khalid; he has kept his coats of mail and weapons for the cause of Allah. As for al-Abbas, his zakah is upon me, and the like of it with it.' Then he said: 'Do you not know that a man's paternal uncle is of the same stock as his father?'
