Musnad Ahmad 8117

Translation

✧ My likeness is that of a man who kindled a fire, and when it illuminated what was around it, moths and these creatures that fall into the fire began to fall into it. He tried to hold them back, but they overcame him and plunged into it. He said: That is my likeness and your likeness: I seize you by your waist-wrappers from the Fire, saying, 'Come away from the Fire, come away from the Fire, come away from the Fire,' but you overcome me and plunge into it.
