حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ عَنْ سُهَيْلِ بْنِ أَبِي صَالِحٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ
مَا تَعُدُّونَ الشَّهِيدَ فِيكُمْ ؟ قَالُوا: مَنْ قُتِلَ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ. قَالَ: إِنَّ شُهَدَاءَ أُمَّتِي إِذًا لَقَلِيلٌ، الْقَتْلُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ شَهَادَةٌ، وَالْبَطْنُ شَهَادَةٌ، وَالْغَرَقُ شَهَادَةٌ، وَالنُّفَسَاءُ شَهَادَةٌ، وَالطَّاعُونُ شَهَادَةٌ
Translation

✧ He said, "What do you consider a martyr among you?" They said, "One who is killed in the path of God." He said, "Then the martyrs of my community would be few. Being killed in the path of God is martyrdom, and death by a stomach disease is martyrdom, drowning is martyrdom, death in childbirth is martyrdom, and the plague is martyrdom."
