حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ عَنِ الْمَقْبُرِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ

إِذَا أَوَى أَحَدُكُمْ إِلَى فِرَاشِهِ فَلْيَنْفُضْهُ بِدَاخِلَةِ إِزَارِهِ فَإِنَّهُ لَا يَدْرِي مَا حَدَثَ بَعْدَهُ. وَإِذَا وَضَعَ جَنْبَهُ فَلْيَقُلْ: بِاسْمِكَ اللَّهُمَّ وَضَعْتُ جَنْبِي وَبِكَ أَرْفَعُهُ، اللَّهُمَّ إِنْ أَمْسَكْتَ نَفْسِي فَاغْفِرْ لَهَا، وَإِنْ أَرْسَلْتَهَا فَاحْفَظْهَا بِمَا تَحْفَظُ بِهِ عِبَادَكَ الصَّالِحِينَ

Translation

✧ When one of you retires to his bed, let him shake it with the inside of his lower garment, for he does not know what has come onto it after him. And when he lays down his side, let him say: In Your name, O God, I lay down my side and with You I raise it. O God, if You hold back my soul, then forgive it, and if You release it, then guard it with what You guard Your righteous servants.
