✧ Abu Hurayrah said when death was present to him: Do not pitch a tent over me, and do not follow me with a censer, and hurry with me, for I heard the Messenger of God ﷺ say: When the righteous man is placed on his bier, he says: 'Send me forward, send me forward.' And when the wicked man is placed on his bier, he says: 'Woe to it! Where are you taking me?'

Saʿd differed from him and narrated it from al-Maqburī, from his father, from Abū Saʿīd al-Khudrī, from the Prophet ﷺ. The statements of al-Layth and Ibn Abī Dhiʾb are both preserved (maḥfūẓ). ʿAbdullāh al-ʿUmarī also narrated it, and there is disagreement about it from him. Isḥāq al-Farwī said, from al-ʿUmarī, from al-Maqburī, from Abū Hurayrah, while ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz b. ʿAbdullāh al-Uwaysī said from him, from Saʿīd al-Maqburī, from his father, from Abū Hurayrah.
