✧ Two women from Hudhayl fought, and one of them threw a stone at the other, hitting her belly and killing her, and she miscarried a fetus. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ ruled that her blood money be paid by the 'āqilah, and for her fetus a ghurrah: a male or female slave. Someone said: How can compensation be paid for one who did not eat, drink, speak, or cry out? Such a one should be disregarded. The Prophet ﷺ said, as Abu Hurayrah claimed: This is one of the brothers of the soothsayers.
