حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنِ ابْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ وَالْأَعْرَجِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ
شَرُّ الطَّعَامِ طَعَامُ الْوَلِيمَةِ يُدْعَى الْغَنِيُّ وَيُتْرَكُ الْمِسْكِينُ، وَهِيَ حَقٌّ، وَمَنْ تَرَكَهَا فَقَدْ عَصَى. وَكَانَ مَعْمَرٌ رُبَّمَا قَالَ: وَمَنْ لَمْ يُجِبِ الدَّعْوَةَ فَقَدْ عَصَى اللهَ وَرَسُولَهُ

✧ The worst food is the food of a wedding feast to which the rich are invited and the poor are left out. It is an obligation, and whoever abandons it has disobeyed. Ma'mar sometimes said: And whoever does not accept the invitation has disobeyed Allah and His Messenger.
