- Ibn ʿAbd al-Barr
machine translationIbn ʿUyaynah was alone in narrating this chain from Yaḥyā b. Saʿīd; no one other than him narrated it from Yaḥyā b. Saʿīd, and they fear that it is a mistake. Rather, the hadith of bankruptcy (al-taflīs) is what is known with this chain. This hadith is narrated from ʿUmar b. ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz from Abū Salamah. As for this chain from Yaḥyā b. Saʿīd, no one other than Ibn ʿUyaynah narrated it, and God knows best. Some of them added to it, from Ibn ʿUyaynah with his chain, "Recite in the name of your Lord."

machine translationMuḥammad b. Qays is trustworthy (thiqah), and his narration of this hadith from ʿUmar b. ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz, from Abū Salamah, from Abū Hurayrah is more authentic (aṣaḥḥ) than the hadith of Ibn ʿUyaynah.
