حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ عَنِ الْأَعْرَجِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ قَالَ اللهُ ﷻ

لَا يَأْتِي النَّذْرُ عَلَى ابْنِ آدَمَ بِشَيْءٍ لَمْ أُقَدِّرْهُ عَلَيْهِ، وَلَكِنَّهُ شَيْءٌ أَسْتَخْرِجُ بِهِ مِنَ الْبَخِيلِ يُؤْتِينِي عَلَيْهِ مَا لَا يُؤْتِينِي عَلَى الْبُخْلِ

Translation

Chain of narrators
  1. Sufyān
  2. Abū al-Zinād
  3. al-Aʿraj
  4. Abū Hurayrah
  5. al-Nabī ﷺ
  6. Allāh ﷻ

✧ A vow does not bring to the son of Adam anything I have not decreed for him, but it is something I extract from the miser. He gives Me because of it what he would not give out of miserliness.
