حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ فُضَيْلٍ حَدَّثَنَا عُمَارَةُ عَنْ أَبِي زُرْعَةَعَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ
إِيَّاكُمْ وَالْوِصَالَ، قَالَهَا ثَلَاثَ مِرَارٍ، قَالُوا: فَإِنَّكَ تُوَاصِلُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ ؟ قَالَ: إِنَّكُمْ لَسْتُمْ فِي ذَلِكَ مِثْلِي؛ إِنِّي أَبِيتُ يُطْعِمُنِي رَبِّي وَيَسْقِينِي. فَاكْلَفُوا مِنَ الْأَعْمَالِ مَا تُطِيقُونَ
Translation

✧ Beware of continual fasting, beware of continual fasting, beware of continual fasting. They said: 'But you practice continual fasting, O Messenger of Allah?' He said: 'You are not like me in that; I spend the night while my Lord feeds me and gives me drink. So burden yourselves with deeds you can bear.'
