حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ عَنْ هِشَامٍ عَنِ ابْنِ سِيرِينَ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ

قَالَ سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ: أَطُوفُ اللَّيْلَةَ عَلَى مِائَةِ امْرَأَةٍ، تَلِدُ كُلُّ وَاحِدَةٍ مِنْهُنَّ غُلَامًا يُقَاتِلُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ، وَلَمْ يَسْتَثْنِ فَمَا وَلَدَتْ إِلَّا وَاحِدَةٌ مِنْهُنَّ بِشِقِّ إِنْسَانٍ. قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: لَوِ اسْتَثْنَى لَوُلِدَ لَهُ مِائَةُ غُلَامٍ، كُلُّهُمْ يُقَاتِلُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ

✧ Sulayman b. Dawud said: I will go around tonight to a hundred women, each one of whom will give birth to a boy who will fight in the path of God, and he did not say 'if God wills.' So none of them gave birth except one who gave birth to half a human. He said: The Messenger of God ﷺ said: If he had said 'if God wills,' a hundred boys would have been born to him, all of them fighting in the path of God.
