حَدَّثَنَا زَيْدُ بْنُ الْحُبَابِ أَخْبَرَنِي مُوسَى بْنُ عَلِيٍّ سَمِعْتُ أَبِي يَقُولُ سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْعَاصِ يَقُولُ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ

تَدْرُونَ مَنِ الْمُسْلِمُ ؟ قَالُوا: اللهُ وَرَسُولُهُ أَعْلَمُ. قَالَ: مَنْ سَلِمَ الْمُسْلِمُونَ مِنْ لِسَانِهِ وَيَدِهِ. قَالَ: تَدْرُونَ مَنِ الْمُؤْمِنُ ؟ قَالُوا: اللهُ وَرَسُولُهُ أَعْلَمُ. قَالَ: مَنْ أَمِنَهُ الْمُؤْمِنُونَ عَلَى أَنْفُسِهِمْ وَأَمْوَالِهِمْ، وَالْمُهَاجِرُ مَنْ هَجَرَ السُّوءَ فَاجْتَنَبَهُ

Translation

✧ He said: 'Do you know who a Muslim is?' They said: 'Allah and His Messenger know best.' He said: 'One from whose tongue and hand the Muslims are safe.' He said: 'Do you know who a believer is?' They said: 'Allah and His Messenger know best.' He said: 'One whom the believers trust with their lives and their wealth. And the emigrant is one who abandons evil and avoids it.'
