✧ I came to Abdullah b. Amr b. al-As and said to him: Tell us what you heard from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. He placed before me a sheet and said: This is what the Messenger of Allah ﷺ wrote for me. I looked at it, and in it was: Abu Bakr al-Siddiq said: O Messenger of Allah, teach me what to say when I enter the morning and when I enter the evening. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to him: O Abu Bakr, say: O Allah, Originator of the heavens and the earth, Knower of the unseen and the seen, there is no god but You, Lord of everything and its Owner. I seek refuge in You from the evil of my soul, and from the evil of Satan and his trap, and from committing any wrong against myself or bringing it upon a Muslim.
