حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ وَإِسْحَاقُ يَعْنِي الْأَزْرَقَ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ بْنِ مَرْثَدٍ عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ بْنِ مُخَيْمِرَةَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو قَالَ

مَا أَحَدٌ مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ يُبْتَلَى بِبَلَاءٍ فِي جَسَدِهِ إِلَّا أَمَرَ اللهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ الْحَفَظَةَ الَّذِينَ يَحْفَظُونَهُ: اكْتُبُوا لِعَبْدِي مِثْلَ مَا كَانَ يَعْمَلُ وَهُوَ صَحِيحٌ مَا دَامَ مَحْبُوسًا فِي وَثَاقِي

Translation

✧ No Muslim is afflicted with a bodily affliction except that Allah, Mighty and Majestic, commands the guardian angels who protect him: 'Write for My servant the like of what he used to do while he was healthy, as long as he remains confined in My bondage.'
