حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحٌ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ شُعَيْبٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ جَدِّهِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو

أَنَّ امْرَأَةً أَتَتِ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَقَالَتْ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، إِنَّ ابْنِي هَذَا كَانَ بَطْنِي لَهُ وِعَاءً، وَحِجْرِي لَهُ حِوَاءً، وَثَدْيِي لَهُ سِقَاءً. وَزَعَمَ أَبُوهُ أَنَّهُ يَنْزِعُهُ مِنِّي ؟ قَالَ: أَنْتِ أَحَقُّ بِهِ مَا لَمْ تَنْكِحِي

Translation

✧ A woman came to the Prophet ﷺ and said: 'O Messenger of Allah, this son of mine—my belly was a vessel for him, my lap a shelter for him, and my breast a source of drink for him. His father claims he will take him from me.' He said: 'You have more right to him as long as you do not marry.'
