machine translationThis ḥadīth is narrated by ʿAmr b. Shuʿayb, and there is disagreement about it from him. Ḥusayn al-Muʿallim narrated it from ʿAmr b. Shuʿayb, from Ṭāwūs, from Ibn ʿUmar and Ibn ʿAbbās. ʿĀmir al-Aḥwal narrated it from ʿAmr b. Shuʿayb, from his father, from his grandfather. Perhaps both chains are preserved (maḥfūẓ). Usāmah b. Zayd and al-Ḥajjāj narrated it from ʿAmr b. Shuʿayb, from his father, from his grandfather, from the Prophet ﷺ, concerning the one who takes back his gift, without mentioning the father taking back his gift. Al-Ḥasan b. Muslim narrated it from Ṭāwūs as a mursal report (mursal), and Ibrāhīm b. Ṭahmān and ʿAbd al-Wārith followed him in narrating it from ʿĀmir al-Aḥwal.
