Translation

✧ I entered upon the Prophet ﷺ while he was performing ablution slowly. He raised his head, looked at me, and said: “Six things among you, O community: the death of your Prophet ﷺ—and it was as if my heart was wrenched from its place.” The Messenger of God ﷺ said: “One.” He said: “And wealth will overflow among you, so that a man will be given ten thousand and remain dissatisfied with it.” The Messenger of God ﷺ said: “Two.” He said: “And a trial that will enter the house of every man among you.” The Messenger of God ﷺ said: “Three.” He said: “And a death like the quʿāṣ of sheep.” The Messenger of God ﷺ said: “Four.” He said: “And a truce between you and the Banū al-Aṣfar. They will gather against you for nine months, like the length of a woman's pregnancy, then they will be more treacherous than you.” The Messenger of God ﷺ said: “Five.” He said: “And the conquest of a city.” The Messenger of God ﷺ said: “Six.” I said: “O Messenger of God, which city?” He said: “Constantinople.”
