✧ I entered a mosque in Syria and prayed two rakʿahs, then sat down. An old man came and prayed by the column. When he finished, the people gathered around him. I asked: Who is this? They said: ʿAbdullāh b. ʿAmr. Then the messenger of Yazīd b. Muʿāwiyah came and said: This man wants to prevent me from narrating to you, but your Prophet ﷺ said: O God, I seek refuge in You from a soul that is not satisfied, a heart that does not humble itself, from knowledge that does not benefit, and from a supplication that is not heard. O God, I seek refuge in You from these four.
