حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ حَدَّثَنِي ابْنُ أَخِي ابْنِ شِهَابٍ عَنْ عَمِّهِ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي سَالِمُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ
سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يُهِلُّ وَهُوَ مُلَبِّدٌ يَقُولُ: لَبَّيْكَ اللَّهُمَّ لَبَّيْكَ، لَبَّيْكَ لَا شَرِيكَ لَكَ لَبَّيْكَ، إِنَّ الْحَمْدَ وَالنِّعْمَةَ لَكَ وَالْمُلْكَ، لَا شَرِيكَ لَكَ قَالَ: وَسَمِعْتُ عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ يُهِلُّ بِإِهْلَالِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ، وَيَزِيدُ فِيهَا: لَبَّيْكَ وَسَعْدَيْكَ وَالْخَيْرُ فِي يَدَيْكَ وَالرَّغْبَاءُ إِلَيْكَ وَالْعَمَلُ
Translation

✧ I heard the Messenger of God ﷺ raising his voice in the talbiyah while his hair was matted, saying: 'Labbayk, O God, labbayk. Labbayk, no partner has You, labbayk. Indeed, all praise and blessing are Yours, and the dominion, no partner has You.' He said: 'And I heard 'Umar b. al-Khattab raising his voice in the same talbiyah as the Messenger of God ﷺ, but he would add to it: 'Labbayk and sa'dayk, and the good is in Your hands, and desire is directed to You, and action.'
