حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ عَنْ أَبِي بِشْرٍ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ

كَانَ لِلنَّبِيِّ ﷺ خَاتَمٌ مِنْ ذَهَبٍ، وَكَانَ يَجْعَلُ فَصَّهُ فِي بَاطِنِ يَدِهِ. فَطَرَحَهُ ذَاتَ يَوْمٍ فَطَرَحَ النَّاسُ خَوَاتِيمَهُمْ، ثُمَّ اتَّخَذَ خَاتَمًا مِنْ فِضَّةٍ، فَكَانَ يَخْتِمُ بِهِ وَلَا يَلْبَسُهُ

Translation

✧ The Prophet ﷺ had a ring of gold, and he used to place its stone on the inside of his palm. One day he threw it away, so the people threw away their rings. Then he acquired a ring of silver, which he used for sealing, but did not wear it.
