✧ Ibn Umar heard a man say, 'Tonight is the middle [of the month].' He said, 'What makes you know it is the middle? Rather, it is the fifteenth. I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: The month is like this, and like this, and like this,' and Abu Khalid folded his thumb on the third time, meaning fifty.
