حَدَّثَنَا هَارُونُ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ وَهْبٍ أَخْبَرَنِي أُسَامَةُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ
كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَدْعُو عَلَى رِجَالٍ مِنَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ، يُسَمِّيهِمْ بِأَسْمَائِهِمْ حَتَّى أَنْزَلَ اللهُ لَيْسَ لَكَ مِنَ الأَمْرِ شَيْءٌ أَوْ يَتُوبَ عَلَيْهِمْ أَوْ يُعَذِّبَهُمْ فَإِنَّهُمْ ظَالِمُونَ فَتَرَكَ ذَلِكَ
Translation

✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ used to supplicate against certain men of the polytheists, naming them by their names, until God revealed: 'You have nothing to do with the matter, whether He turns to them or punishes them, for they are wrongdoers.' Then he abandoned that.
