حَدَّثَنَا هَاشِمُ بْنُ الْقَاسِمِ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرِ بْنِ حَفْصٍ عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ
أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ بَعَثَ إِلَى عُمَرَ بِحُلَّةٍ مِنْ حَرِيرٍ ( أَوْ سِيَرَاءَ، أَوْ نَحْوِ هَذَا ) فَرَآهَا عَلَيْهِ فَقَالَ: إِنِّي لَمْ أُرْسِلْ بِهَا إِلَيْكَ لِتَلْبَسَهَا، إِنَّمَا هِيَ ثِيَابُ مَنْ لَا خَلَاقَ لَهُ. إِنَّمَا بَعَثْتُ بِهَا إِلَيْكَ لِتَسْتَنْفِعَ بِهَا.
Translation

✧ That the Prophet ﷺ sent Umar a robe of silk (or sīrā’, or something like that). He saw it on him and said: I did not send it to you to wear it. It is only the clothing of one who has no share. I only sent it to you so that you could make use of it.
