machine translationAbū Isḥāq al-Shaybānī and ʿAbdullāh b. Ḥabīb b. Abī Thābit narrate it, and there is disagreement about them. Abū Isḥāq al-Shaybānī narrated it from Ḥabīb b. Abī Thābit, from Ibn ʿUmar, from the Prophet ﷺ, while ʿAbdullāh b. Ḥabīb b. Abī Thābit made it a statement of the Companion (mawqūf) and did not raise it to the Prophet. Ḥabīb did not hear this hadith from Ibn ʿUmar; rather he narrated it from Ṭāwūs, from him. Likewise it was narrated by Manṣūr b. al-Muʿtamir, Misʿar b. Kidām, Sufyān al-Thawrī, Fiṭr b. Khalīfah and Ḥamzah al-Zayyāt: they narrated it from Ḥabīb, from Ṭāwūs, from Ibn ʿUmar, and it is sound (ṣaḥīḥ) from Ḥabīb, from Ṭāwūs. Likewise Sulaymān al-Taymī narrated it from Ṭāwūs, from Ibn ʿUmar, and it is also sound from him.
