حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ دِينَارٍعَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ
اتَّخَذَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ خَاتَمًا مِنْ ذَهَبٍ، فَاتَّخَذَ النَّاسُ خَوَاتِيمَ مِنْ ذَهَبٍ فَقَامَ يَوْمًا فَقَالَ: إِنِّي كُنْتُ أَلْبَسُ هَذَا الْخَاتَمَ، ثُمَّ نَبَذَهُ فَنَبَذَ النَّاسُ خَوَاتِيمَهُمْ
Translation

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ took a ring of gold, so the people took rings of gold. Then one day he stood and said, "I used to wear this ring," then he threw it away, and the people threw away their rings.
