حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللهِ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ
طَلَّقْتُ امْرَأَتِي عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ وَهِيَ حَائِضٌ، فَذَكَرَ ذَلِكَ عُمَرُ لِرَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ: مُرْهُ فَلْيُرَاجِعْهَا حَتَّى تَطْهُرَ، ثُمَّ تَحِيضَ أُخْرَى، فَإِذَا طَهُرَتْ يُطَلِّقُهَا إِنْ شَاءَ قَبْلَ أَنْ يُجَامِعَهَا أَوْ يُمْسِكُهَا فَإِنَّهَا الْعِدَّةُ الَّتِي أَمَرَ اللهُ أَنْ تُطَلَّقَ لَهَا النِّسَاءُ
Translation

✧ I divorced my wife during the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ while she was menstruating. Umar mentioned that to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and he said: Command him to take her back until she becomes pure, then has another period. When she becomes pure, he may divorce her if he wishes before having intercourse with her, or keep her, for that is the waiting period at which Allah has commanded women to be divorced.
